Lypossage is a natural, non-invasive alternative to plastic surgery with no cutting, no healing time, and no risk of infection. A blend of massage therapy techniques and complex physical therapy for lymphoedema developed in the late 1990s, Lypossage works to detoxify, reduce inflammation, reduce bloating and sagging skin, and reduce wrinkles.
It is anti-aging and also body contouring in the case of cellulite. It can decrease inches, reducing bulges and imperfections.
Lypossage is targeted at three different zones:
- Zone 1: the lower part of the body, including the thighs, buttocks, lower abdomen, and hips. Lypossage in this area is intended to reduce inches, improve muscle and skin tone, and properly drain the lymphatic system.
- Zone 2: the back, chest, neck, upper abdomen, and arms. Again, the expected outcome of lypossage in this zone is inch reduction and improved lymphatic low.
- Zone 3: the head, face, and neck. Lypossage to this zone is generally aimed at improving the tone and appearance of the tissues.
The techniques your therapist will use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 include Myofascial Manipulation, Compression, Skin Rolling, and more. Zone 3 techniques tend more toward deep tissue massage and a focus on Lymphatic Drainage around the neck and throat, which is why Diana Meyer is so good at this with her additional training in Lymphatic Drainage.
The typical protocol for the Lypossage treatment is 18, 20-minute sessions (three times a week for six weeks) for Zone 1 and Zone 2. Though that also goes for Zone 3, you can see results in Zone 3 with just one or a couple of treatments. So imagine if you are having photos taken or have a big event coming up, you could pop in for Zone 3 treatment and then feel your best inside and out!
The most important thing to remember is that work like this is gentle and takes multiple sessions for any results to be noticeable.
